Hi Sudhan, for a career in HR you can pursue various options. You can do a full time course in MBA -HR from the top Biz Schools, or you can join work after graduation and do a distance learning course and then move laterally to HR.
Pay Scale would depend on your industry and role and educational qualifications. However you can look at starting out with a salary range of Rs. 3.5 lakhs per annum.
Usually, for faster career growth, engineers should get into operations after MBA. However if you feel that HR is your calling then I personally feel that a regular two year MBA from either XLRI,Symbiosis or any other good B-School, where the criteria of goodness of the B- School should be decided by the number of HR placements, is a preferable option.
This is because after completing your engineering it would be diffcult to get into a nontechnical job that allows you to slide laterally into HR via the correspondence course route.
Whatever you decide remember that to be a good HR person at any level from trainee to manager needs a lot of emotional stability and objectivity and it is not the cakewalk that it seems to be.
HR mangers usually execute some of the most unpalatable tasks that no one else woudl like to do, so you need to have the ability to experience the worst human emotions known to mankind and keep a straight face. How you do that is what the whole game is about.
First and foremost, learn to use proper English and do NOT use txt speak English.
I'm sorry, but few will take you seriously if you txt. Part of being HR is to encourage good communication and you will be dealing with many people that do not use txt and will not understand txt.
Having said that, it seems that you are doing a technical qualification and Hr demands everything from listening to hard luck stories and deciding whether or not to pay someone, to setting policy for an entire multinational company. Are you sure that you can transitional from a technical role to HR?
As you are doing BE , I guess you are in final year of your college.
If you wish to join a best of breed ,I will suggest to prepare for CAT ,XAT and there sibling entrance test and try your best to get in one of the top schools in India. ( For example IIM/XLRI). That will put you on a good track .
Before that I would like to write a essay on "Why HR? " that will able to convince you to admission board ,why you are switching to HR .
