(Ref - ET report citing the growing demand for Head hunters.)
Having a lot of free time on your hands gives you the opportunity to do so much that you would have otherwise not done - surf the net, hone your typing skills, read blogs and post them, and when your eyeballs are about to pop out after having stared at a computer screen for hours you can always soothe them with cool water and a change of type font by reading the newspaper.
Today's session ended with yours truly scanning the ET for all things HR. Very interesting things crop up from time to time. Like the news item buried in the fifth page (yes I actually have a lot of free time on my hands) describing the turn of events where senior personnel are now chasing after Head hunters with a vengeance to grab the few opportunities open in the market.
One of my friends who works in a consultancy was telling me the other day about a candidate who would simply refuse to answer emails or calls for job interviews who now calls her every day to ask if there are openings anywhere.
The same people who refused to entertain a single call and would be rude/curt/abrupt are now going out of their way to be polite and courteous. Major role reversal.
Moral of the story - the hunters are now the hunted!
